Motion Blur for Car in Photoshop
This is our first photoshop tutorial, and we will be making mostly automotive related tutorials - why? because cars are great!
Ok. So first thing you need is a proper car picture.
The Car is rather stopped, or going very slowly as we can see from this picture. It is a Porsche TechArt 996, and we are going to make the effect as if it would be speeding. This is going to be very easy.
Duplicate the layer going to the Layer Menu> Duplicate Layer. Once we have it duplicated, We are going to apply the motion blur to the layer copy. Just go to the Filter Menu, then Blur>Motion Blur. Make sure that the blur direction is the same as the car trajectory:
Now we are going again to the Layer menu and this time we will select Layer Mask>Reveal All. Press F7 to go to the Layers panel and you will see something like this:
All you have to do now is select a pitch black brush and paint over the areas where you don’t to have the blur, in this case, everywhere except the Porsche. If you did something wrong select a white brush and then it will blur again. This is the final result:
U la la!
